I heard a joke once that went something like this:
“What does an Engineer use for birth control?”
“His personality.”
Why is this relevant? Well because I passed my Inter-Provincial exam for my 4th Class Power Engineers ticket a couple days ago. This ain’t the kind of Engineering certificate that comes with one of those fancy pinky rings, well unless I’m willing to devote another 6 yrs of my life to it. Some of which would include Employer changes, geographical changes and tonnes of personal sacrifice. I’ll go for the next class up and see how it goes, but as far as I am concerned now the 3rd will be as far as I go.
Just please don’t confuse me with a real engineer.
Still, it keeps me employed where I am happy and provides a great lifestyle for my family and I. it’s nice to be grounded.
Meanwhile the snow has been falling here and it’s time to go skiing. Mt Seymour is open and I can’t wait to get up there with the family. I have 8 days off coming up soon and plan to spend a lot of it hitting the slopes.
Been out with the camera lately and have to say I am starting to get a bit better at this gig, especially with my lovely wifes post editing skills in Aperture:
Well off to work for another OT night. Looking forward to the weekend off.

Jew Berries, Chocwit Baboos (You gotta shake it), tatoes, o-gurt, trees and ginger. To Sage these references make perfect sense, but if you actually needed to get them for her and did not know Sage-inese you would be fairly hard pressed to satisfy here. For the laymen the translations are blue berries, chocolate bottles, tomatoes, yogurt, broccoli or cauliflower and beer. Of course it was dad who spoiled her with chocolate baby bottles, but when you don’t have the built in hardware (Hannas) to feed her you go with what works. I guess I had to post a few of her words here so I don’t forget them.
And speaking of the things unforgettable – potty training has been fun. “I did it , I did it, I gets the chocwits!”
More to post on that later.

I haven’t been an actual registered participant until this year, but I have coincidentally grown a moustache around this time of year for the last 2 or 3 years. Well this year I went for it and decided to go for a full Paul Sr. Orange County Choppers handle bar stache. I also officially registered at www.ca.movember.com , you can see the team I joined here:
Movember Team Farzads Barbershop
Please donate if you can, it’s going to a great cause, fighting Prostate Cancer, something more and more men are facing and one close to home as my father in law tragically suffered from it.
I guess I’ll do OK growing one as well as I am blessed (or cursed) depending on your view with rich, black and coarse facial hair. I guess it’s genetics as my dad has been a moustache man as long as I can remember. Even when I remember him shaving it off, usually around my parents anniversary, he would have it grown back within a week.
Here’s my dad, he doesn’t like posing for pics usually:
And here’s my last years stasche:
Tragically my masterpiece was cut short and just when it was coming in to it’s prime by a hockey puck on an errant clearing pass out of my own teams zone during a hockey game, it honestly felt like getting hit in the face with a baseball bat. I couldn’t shave around it so it all came off:
Any ways it’s shaping up to be a good month, my work load appears to be light, if all goes well I will have my 4th Class Power Engineers Certificate on the 24th and hopefully a mountain full of snow to go skiing on.
Here’s a pic of the Rican with one of her best friends Royal Carriveau (Chief Corey’s daughter Her Royal Higness) to end on a better looking note:

He’s like a Pugliot and a Shonkliot (Sage’s nicknames for him). Otherwise know as Hank. And one of Sage’s best friends. He’s a part of the family, a very hairy part of the family. He loves camping, here’s a shot of him in the trailer:
Wow it’s been a busy year, especially with work. I’m actually on vacation as I post this but you would never know. I was called in to work last night in an “emergency”. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person who answers the phone when work shows up in the call display. Oh well, atleast it helps us build our little family home. There’s nothing like doing your regular job for double the pay.
Don’t get me wrong I enjoy what I do, and not many people can say that for their respective careers.
Still missing my family though, but making plans for some serious family time this winter. Lot’s of Skiing and snowboarding, even Sage has her Season Pass this year for Mt. Seymour. It’s going to be great year for snow with La Nina and all. I hope it snows 10 feet downtown. Sage has the cutest winter gear this year, can’t wait to use it (hard to get a good pic though as she was not in the mood for posing):
Kids gear is so much more technically advanced now, her Roxy gear even has built in powder skirts. How cool is that?
Done for today, time for some sushi and a Canucks game.
